Nashville’s West End is a leafy neighborhood of well-appointed homes surrounding the expansive green space of Centennial Park. Hillsboro is a collegiate neighborhood that is continuous with the West End and often subdivided into the western section of Hillsboro-West End and the eastern Hillsboro-Belmont. The neighborhood is close to Belmont and Vanderbilt Universities and has a collegiate atmosphere with lots of trendy local businesses.
Hillsboro and West End offer many attractive historic homes on tree-lined streets close to plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and independent retailers. Things to Do
One of the best things about living in this part of Nashville is having right at your doorstep. This sprawling 132-acre green space features wide tree-flanked lawns, a scenic lake with fountains, and a stunning full-scale replica of the Parthenon built in the 1890s. is a nonprofit cinema in Hillsboro Village that first opened in the 1920s. Briefly serving as the home of the Grand Ole Opry in the 1930s, it’s now an upscale movie theater screening new independent and documentary film releases alongside classic film screenings and filmmaker discussions. Visitors can enjoy movies at The Belcourt Theater with specialty baked goods and other snacks alongside wine and local craft beer. Just north of the Vanderbilt University campus, Elliston Place is often dubbed the Elliston Place Rock Block for its concentration of live music venues. is an intimate venue that was featured in the 1975 film Nashville. Directly across the street from Exit/In, is one of the most raucous venues in Nashville for live rock band performances.
